Delta Sigma Pi is a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business in universities; to encourage scholarship, social activity and the association of students for their mutual advancement by research and practice; to promote closer affiliation between the commercial world and students of commerce, and to further a higher standard of commercial ethics and culture and the civic and commercial welfare of the community.

The Alpha Iota Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi was established at Drake University on May 17, 1924. Ever since then, the fraternity has prospered into a well established and known organization on campus and in the Des Moines community.

Professional Events

As a professional fraternity, we pride ourselves on expanding the networks of each member through our events. Within the past year our chapter has had the oppertunity to network with CEOs, senior executives, entrepreneurs, recent graduates, and professionals from every field of study.

Along with bringing speakers to campus, our chapter has toured local businesses to see the inner working of a company, had dinner with well established professionals, and had the oppertunity to attend networking events put on by companies.

Social Events

Delta Sigma Pi doesn't just focus on professionalism and work. The fraternity encourages the building of brotherhood amongst all memebers. After all, as a Deltasig we are not just Brothers, but we are also friends for life.

In order to help build this bond, the Alpha Iota chapter holds a Holiday Party formal in the fall semester and a Rose Dance in the spring semester. There are also weekly events that range from Brothers night out, game night, intermural tournaments, and retreats. Annually we attend the Halsey Volleyball-Basketball tournament with chapters from our region where we try to bring home the first place trophy.

The Brotherhood bond that we have in Deltasig is a tight knit one just like a real family.

CommunityService

Giving back to the community and making a difference is something that we strongly believe in and uphold. The types of community service projects that our chapter does are meaningful to our Brothers. Our chapter helps and supports both local and national charities through our time, effort, and money that we raise.
